This policy describes how we at CHANGE CHICAGO, INC., an Illinois non profit corporation operating as a 501(c)(4) organization, collect, use, and share the information that we obtain from you.
What We Collect
We collect PII when you voluntarily submit it to us. We may also collect PII about you from reputable third parties.
For instance, when you sign up to receive the CHANGE CHICAGO, INC. newsletter or join CHANGE CHICAGO, INC., we ask you for contact information, such as your full name, e-mail address, mailing address, etc. as well as information about your interests. We use this information to communicate with you about CHANGE CHICAGO, INC. and its activities and about issues in which you expressed an interest. Further, you may decide to share with us information concerning your location or schedule to volunteer with us or attend one of our events.

We collect the following information automatically using cookies and our website’s built in technology:
1. The domain name of the internet service you use. This information does not tell us who you are individually.
2. The date and time of your visit and which pages on our site you visited.
3. The operating system (Windows or Apple) and web browser you use (Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer).
4. The address of the previous web site you visited, if you linked to us from another site.
We use a third party to process any contributions to Change Chicago, Inc. We do not receive, see, handle or process your payment information that you provide to our third party payment processor. Our third party payment processor uses a secure server and encryption to assure the security of financial information. We also have security measures in place to protect against loss, misuse or unauthorized access to any personal or financial information you provide to us.
How We Use Your Information
Our primary purpose in collecting information is to provide you with information about our mission and how you can support our mission. We may also use information to conduct research and analysis, or to improve our websites, our products, or our services.
How We Share Your Personal Information
We may share your personal information in the following circumstances:
Similar Interests. We may share your PII with parties promoting similar interests, policies and solutions.
Corporate affiliates. We may share your personal information with companies that are affiliated with us (that is companies that control us, are controlled by us, or are under common control with us).

- Update or correct your contact information at any time by contacting us at the telephone number, email address, or mailing address listed below.
- If you would like to stop receiving promotional emails from us you can click on the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any promotional email that you receive or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Your request must include (1) all of the incorrect PII that you wish to change, (2) the corrected PII, and (3) your signature authorizing such changes. We will then correct the PII in our database and send a written confirmation to you.

Social Media and Share Links. When you “like” or “follow” us on social media sites or click on one of our share links, we may collect your information. This information may include your name, e-mail address, and any comments or content you post relevant to us. A “share link” is a button and/or text link appearing on our websites that launches a sharing mechanism that allows you to post links to, and content from, our websites or application onto other websites.
Notice to California Residents. California residents may ask us to describe what categories of personal information we share with affiliated companies or third parties for their direct marketing purposes, and the names of those companies. You may receive a copy of this notice by submitting a written request to us at the addresses listed in the “Communication” Section.
Notice to Canadian Residents. We may process and store your PII in a country outside of Canada, and the governments, courts, or law enforcement of that country may be able to obtain disclosure of personal information through the laws of the foreign country. Under the laws of a foreign country, in certain circumstances, we may be required to provide your PII in response to a search warrant or other legally valid inquiry or order.
